Litnevskaya The article addresses the challenges and methodology of deciphering baroque librettos, focusing on Pietro Metastasio's fi rst musical drama "Siface," which some researchers often exclude from the playwright's creative heritage, leaving this text undeciphered until now. The author analyzes certain typographical features of 18th century editions that contribute to the complexity of working with the text. Special attention is given to the use of modern digital technologies, particularly neural networks, in the deciphering process. The necessity of combining machine recognition with expert analysis is emphasized. The article offers specific methodological recommendations and contributes to the development of digital textual studies.
