Music and Time Annotation << Back On Ancient Azerbaijani Folklore Game Tunes S.А. Balabeyova Our folk art samples, which have deep roots in the distant past and summarize the thinking, life, feelings, beliefs, struggle, and refl ection of events of our ancestors, are the voice of the traditions that have come down to our days. The depictions on the Gobustan rock, Ordubad's Gamigaya Mountain are a visual proof of ritual gatherings created and implemented by the thought of primitive people. Our composer Ü.Hajibeyli and his followers the persevering activity of musicologists and scientists is irreplaceable. Musical pieces that have improved and become more complex over time have been divided into types and formed by fi nding their structure. The article contains important information about the classifi cation of our traditional dances that B.Huseynli, M.Ismayilov and K.Hasanov put forward by analyzing them from a theoretical point of view with their different approaches. Also, we have shown relevant examples of each division, highlighting the interesting proposal of R. Bahmanli regarding the grouping and additions, which was redrawn keeping in mind the existing considerations. Then, general information about the genres of "Yalli", "Halay", "Cangi", "Gaitagi", individual distinguishing and similar aspects as well as their rhythmic fi gures are given in detail, and some of the examples to which they belong are listed.
