by the Famous Azerbaijani Opera

The article highlights the work of the People's Artist of the USSR and Azerbaijan, the famous opera singer Firangiz Akhmedova. The main goal of the article is
to determine the features of the images created by F. Akhmedova in the operatic works of European and Russian composers. Firangiz Akhmedova, one of the fi rst
performers on the Azerbaijani opera stage, perfectly synthesized national roots and Western European traditions. Her activities in the development of the Azerbaijani
vocal school, which has deep historical roots, are associated with his inexhaustible talent and intense creative activity. F. Akhmedova, who has a unique voice timbre,
a wide vocal range, a strong and pleasant voice, managed to create different images with the emotionality typical of an Eastern woman in the operas of Western
European and Russian composers. As a soloist of the Azerbaijan State Opera and Ballet Theater, Firangiz Akhmedova had a rich repertoire and created a colorful
gallery of images. The outstanding vocalist, who performed with various characters in operas by Azerbaijani, Russian and foreign composers, conveyed the fi gurative
and emotional nature of the images with unique professionalism. Many roles created by F.Akhmedova, including Aida in Verdi’s opera “Aida”, Desdemona in “Othello”,
Tosca in G. Puccini’s opera “Tosca”, Cio-Cio-San in “Madama Butterfl y”, Micaela in “Carmen» is distinguished by professionalism. In F. Akhmadova’s repertoire, the
stage personifi cation of the main characters of operas by Russian composers occupies one of the leading places: this is Tamara in the opera “Demon” by A. Rubinstein,
Tatyana in the opera “Eugene Onegin”. P.I. Tchaikovsky, Yaroslavna in the opera “Prince Igor” by A.P. Borodin, Zemfi ra in S. Rachmaninov’s opera “Aleko”. She created
unforgettable images of operas by Russian composers on the Azerbaijani opera stage. F. Akhmedova played an important role in the integration of Azerbaijani vocal art
into the world opera stage. From this point of view, the work of F. Akhmedova represents an important page in the development of the national vocal school.
