Trio for Flute, Cello and Piano by K.M. Weber: Methodical Recommendations for Working on the Piano Part in the Context of Performance Analysis |
M.V. Filippov, D.A. Petrova, S.A. Glavatskih
The article is devoted to one of the outstanding examples of chamber music by K.M. Weber – Trio for flute, cello and piano. The work is considered in the context of the textured palette of chamber music and the role of the piano part in it, in the light of performance traditions, as well as from the point of view of the interpretation of form and style features. During the analysis of the Trio, a unique stylistic fusion is revealed, in which the polyphonic principles of the Baroque, classical formal traditions and romantic tendencies merge into an inseparable whole. A thorough study of the musical text allows us to reveal the variety of types of piano texture used by the composer, draw conclusions about the ratio of the members of the ensemble, where the piano has a "directing" function, and give methodical recommendations on the work of the pianist on his part.
Keywords: Weber, Romantic era, chamber music, piano, texture, style, performer, XIX century.
