Music and Time Annotation << Back Pages of the Pedagogical Activity of Alexander Konstantinovich Glazunov (1899–1928) A.V. Ustugova This article examines an unexplored area of creativity of the great Russian composer Alexander Konstantinovich Glazunov – pedagogical activity during his work at the St. Petersburg-Leningrad Conservatory (1899–1928). The recreated the image of Glazunov as a teacher based on the analysis of the composer’s epistolary heritage, notes, marks in musical texts, as well as memoirs and letters of his contemporaries. Pedagogy was an important component of the life path of A.K. Glazunov. The generalization of the composer’s pedagogical experience actualizes his views and ideas, which are of value for modern music education. The study made it possible to identify the characteristic features and merits of A.K. Glazunov’s pedagogy, his exceptional professional authority, the enormous influence that he had on the creative fate of many prominent performers, teachers, theorists, composers and conductors of the late XIXth – first third of the XXth century.
