The scientifi c article reveals the basics of orchestral performance, connections between a poet, composer, conductor, stages of rehearsal work of a conductor with an orchestra, interpretation of a piece of music, creative like-mindedness of a composer, conductor and musicians of performers. To what extent can higher musical abilities, a sense of form, the ability to analyze and generalize the result of a performance be developed and educated in the conductor’s activities, how to skillfully calculate the rehearsal time - determine in advance the required number of rehearsals, after each one leave a complete impression of what has been done, how not to languish in vain with unnecessary waiting for musicians who are partially free from the program, how to learn to be able to alternate tedious, stressful pieces with lighter ones during rehearsals. How to connect with the best-trained, cutting-edge musicians, and how to help the less capable but diligent and hardworking musicians achieve excellence. How to create such an orchestra, where each musician proudly carries the honor of belonging to his or her collective.
