Music and Time Annotation << Back Interpretation of the Composition Named «Tanrim» («My God») by Ilham Nazarov A.O. Ibrahimova This article discloses characteristic features of the vocal performance by the famous Azerbaijani countertenor Ilham Nazarov using the example of his interpretation of "My God" composition by Ayten Oktayqizi on the lyrics of Gular Elvanqizi. While performing this composition the singer used two timbrеs of his voice - baritone and countertenor. The personality of a vocalist having an extraordinary voice is quite multifaceted. He is a bright and talented vocal performer of our times who has performed around 50 opera parts on various opera stages of the world. Among these we may mention such roles as Nofal ("Leili and Majnun" by U. Hajibeili), Aleko ("Aleko" by S. Rachmaninoff), Escamillo ("Carmen" by G. Bizet), Silvio ("Pagliacci" by R. Leoncovallo), Papageno ("The Magic Flute" by V. Mozart), Onegin ("Eugene Onegin" by P. Tchaikovsky), Prilepa ("The Queen of Spades" by P. Chaykovsky), Cherubino ("The Marriage of Figaro" by V. Mozart), Orpheus ("Orpheus and Eurydice" by K.Gluck), Radames ("Radames" by P. Eötvös), Prince Orlofsky ("Die Fledermaus" (The Bat)" by I. Strauss), Nireno ("Giulio Cesare" by G. Handel) and others from music pieces of baroque composers to modernity. Chamber music occupies an important place in I.Nazarov’s creative activity along with the opera and stage performance. His repertoire includes vocal works by Schumann, Brahms, Grieg, Glinka, Dargomyzhsky, Tchaikovsky, Borodin, Rimsky-Korsakov, Rachmaninoff, Bulakhov, Shostakovich, Dunayevsky and others. At the same time, Nazarov periodically appears at republican and international conferences with scientific articles. Since 2008, Ilham Nazarov has been engaged in teaching activities.
