Performance Interpretation by N.D. Spiller of the Role of Olga from the Opera "The Pskovite Woman" by N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov |

The article is devoted to the peculiarities of the performance interpretation of the outstanding opera singer, People’s Artist of the RSFSR, leading soloist of the State Academic Bolshoi Theater N.D. Shpiller as Olga from the opera "The Pskovite Woman" by N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov. The role of Olga is one of the central ones in the artist’s work, it was in her that her acting talent was manifested. It is revealed that the repertoire of N.D. Spiller includes a variety of contrasting roles in both historical and dramatic terms. The analysis of the singer’s performing techniques with the indication of the orthoepic transcriptions of the text is performed. It is shown that the creative handwriting of N.D. The spiller is distinguished by the realistic presentation of each of the images played on the stage, which is typical for representatives of the Russian vocal school. The study of Olga’s part in the interpretation of N.D. Shpiller allowed us to conclude that the singer paid special attention to the clarity and expressiveness of vocal speech, achieved through the application of rules for the ringing of consonants, the qualitative reduction of vowels.
