Music and Time Annotation << Back Realization of the Genre of Romance in Vocal and Instrumental Creativity (Based on the Music of S.V. Rachmaninov) I.G. Razinkova Romance – perhaps the most secret musical genre, revealing and even exposing the soul of the author. It always symbolizes the open sincere message of the composer. This article will discuss some aspects of the interpretation of this phenomenon in the works of S. Rachmaninov. Widely represented in the vocal and instrumental heritage of an outstanding musician, occupying one of the central places among his creations, he was the object of attention of the composer only in the early period of creativity, which was associated more with the formation and maturation of the original style. It is amazing how closely the romance interacts with other works of the great genius. Examples of the similarity of the figurative-sound worlds of the author’s works or even self-citation are frequent. It is symptomatic that romances continue to attract a huge number of musicians not only for their stage interpretation in their original form, but also for transcribing - the embodiment of their own artistic and creative ideas. Moreover, the principles of working with the source in transcriptors are different. In some cases, the highest degree of closeness with the original text prevails, in others, the maximum degree of its transformation is traced with the introduction of the most pronounced creative approach into the transcription. Romance is, of course, a unique genre that reveals the features of S. Rachmaninov’s style and thinking, and provides fertile ground for creating secondary texts.
