Privalova The article is devoted to the study of prototypes of the main heroine of the opera “Carmen” by G. Bizet. The influence of romanticism on the formation of psychological traits of the main characters of F. Chateaubriand “Atala, Or Love and Constancy of Two Savages in the Desert”, the poem A.S. Pushkin “Gypsies”, the novella P. Merimee “Carmen” and the opera of the same name by J. Bizet are substantiates. The analysis of the manifold drama manifested at various levels reveals the origins of the formation of the characteristic qualities of the personality of the heroine Bizet in the person of Atala, and also allows you to trace subsequent changes in the prototype in the works of Pushkin and Merime. Based on the image of kali proposed by the writers, the librettists and Bizet create a unique portrait of la femme fatale, which for many centuries has been one of the most sought-after and mysterious standards of world opera art, embodying, as P.I.
