On the musical, dramatic and genre features of the operetta B.I. Tishchenko «Tarakanishe» |

The article is devoted to musical-dramatic and genre features of the operetta “Tarakanishe” B.I. Tishchenko, written in the verses of K.I. Chukovsky. The author of the article shows the implementation in operetta of various musical and musical theatrical genres that influenced the style of the work. The main material of the study is the score of the operetta “Tarakanishe”. There is a plurality of genre sources of musical material, from associations with samples from the classical Western opera of the 18–19 centuries, to street, children's songs and counters, call signs and even allusions from the jazz area. Originality in the approach to the use of the choir is considered. It is the choir that plays the main dramatic role, the action takes place in the choir part, the choir evaluates what is happening, becomes a “collective hero”. Such an interpretation introduces the features of an oratorio and an opera into an operetta. The multi-genre composition of Tishchenko’s work is analyzed from different angles. Through showing the aspects of the satirical, comic and tragic in the operetta “Tarakanishe”, the author of the article concludes that Tishchenko created a parody operetta with a clear political orientation.
