A.D. Artobolevskaya’s Piano Playing Approach in the Psychological Context (based on handwritten workbooks) |

The article analyzes the methodological guidelines of the outstanding Russian piano teacher Anna Danilovna Artobolevskaya.
The aim of the article is an attempt to characterize the psychological aspects and methods of working with children, which the
teacher attached great importance to. Applied Artobolevskaya knowledge, obtained by her at the courses at the All-Union Institute
of Public Education in Kiev, consistent with the fundamental laws of age psychology, child physiology, primary school pedagogy. In
her technique, she also accumulated knowledge, which she derived from not only humanitarian but also exact sciences.
The article is based on archival sources - handwritten workbooks containing observations of pedagogical process, which
Artobolevskaya was involved in during her whole life. The article is addressed to children music and arts schools piano teachers,
as well as to parents, seeking to coordinate development of their children.
