The article identifies the origins and development of scientific thought related to the study of Russian folk songs. Designated branches of scientific knowledge that have traditionally studied, loved by the people genre (musicology, Ethnography, Ethnology, Philology, history, and pedagogy and psychology of artistic creativity, pedagogy and psychology of music folk). Revealed integrative (art determination) of the component in the resource base of the studied phenomenon, which opens the corresponding list. Draws attention to the fact that the synthesis of the arts, Trinity (music, party singer, party-viewer) in the determinist
line largely determine the artistic nature of Russian folk songs. Attempted formation of the integral components of artistic and creative potential of Russian folk songs. It was integrative (art-determination), the substantive, emotional, constructive, logical, reflective, role-playing, illustrations, regional color, variationimprovisational, value based and activity-subject components. At the end of the work are examples of active use of thematic material of Russian folk songs by composers representing the Russian classical school: M.I. Glinka, M.P. Mussorgsky, N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov, P.I. Tchaikovsky, A.E. Varlamov. Emphasizes the idea that Russian folk songs (a ritual calendar, military, domestic, historical, lingering lyrical) with a powerful multi-level artistic and creative potential, achieve the status of a multicomponent artistic and creative paradigm.
