Music and Time Annotation << Back About Anhemitonic Melodics Phenomenon in Sviridov’s Compositions L.V. Brazhnik This article presents anhemitonic melodics in Sviridov’s music works. Rimskiy-Korsakov’s compositional school, to which Sviridov was belong to and his knowledge of Russian folk songs had a great impact on him. It had also revealed in trichord-motivic intoning interest. Besides pentatonic examples Sviridov’s anhemitonic melodics include hexatonic and heptatonic scales. Different types of anhemitonic are more inherent to vocal and choir compositions, that is to genres, which are connected with words. Composer used expressive means of anhemitonics with a view to create wide variety of word pictures and emotional states. Anhemitonics in connection with diatonics and chromatics very often give singular mode-intonational dramaturgy, reflecting meaning of poetic texts, which Sviridov used in his musical works.
