Provocation of New Music |

The article deals with the sociological analysis of the meaning of the New music as an integral part of contemporary art.
The authors show that the real understanding of the New music is only possible within the distinguishing between modern and
contemporary art and using the formula «beautiful – ugly». Contrary to popular belief, the actual music does not fit into the parameters
of the ugly. It is not opposed to the sound of the classical world and the reality of the past. New Music makes deconstruction of
the past, lays it into puzzles, and mixes them into the sounds of today. In an effort to wrest the listener from the usual routine of
the classic sound of the world, it uses provocation and paradox. Its provocations and paradoxes aimed at changing the routine
audience settings. Audience is stunned by the sound, which was out of place to the Philharmonic context previously. New music
is constantly in search of means of transmission mediums and their meanings. But the focus of the basic principles is usually the
same – the blurred boundaries of sound and noise, music and speech sounds, the abandonment of traditional techniques of musical
performance, new sounds and techniques, experiments with sound.
