About Crystallization of the Boulez’s Musical and Theoretical Views |

This article is devoted to analysis of Boulez’s theoretical works from collection of articles «Notes of an Apprenticeship» (written from 1948 till 1963) where the main principles and compositional methods of the composer are formed and developed, which are presented and discussed in treatise «Boulez on music today». The central problem of this article is revealing of the most important for Boulez artists and composers from the end of 19-th century till the middle of 20-th century. In the article Boulez’s statements and views on the Artaud’s Theatre of Cruelty, on the Leibowitz’s and Messiaen’s lessons, on the Stravinsky’s ballet «The Rite of Spring» and on the role of the compositional methods which the composers of the Second Viennese School had discovered. At the end of the article the Boulez’s conclusion is cited: the way that Boulez can propose for the modern situation in the music is to unite Stravinsky’s and Messiaen’s rhythmical innovations with the principles of the Schoenberg’s pitch technique.
