Music and Time Annotation << Back Сrossing Principles of Composition in the «Simple» Music by A. Part and V. Martynov V. Grachev This article discusses the problem of crossing principles of composition in the religious music by Arvo Part and Vladimir Martynov, written in the last quarter of the twentieth century. In the view of the author are ontological principles of attitude – the view of the composer from the face of the Creator, reliance on prayer, the man detachment from the world, a sense of incommensurability of human life and the eternal flow of time, and so. They contribute to generating simple diatonic music, elementary initium, numerical calculation of the initial forms of intonation and its deployment, ostinato-repetitive development of additive, reductive and mirror-image forms of conversion of the thesis, as well as other original features in the works of Arvo Part and Martynov. Based on the new composition techniques, found contemporary authors, a new stylistic trend turns the object of study in this article.
