Music and Time Annotation << Back Melody of Life: the Contribution of Imruz Afandiyeva to the Development of Аzerbaijani Musicology. Dedicated to the 90th Anniversary of the Prominent Musicologist and Educator A.O. Bakhshiyeva The article is dedicated to the 90th anniversary (in 2025) of the prominent Azerbaijani scholar, musicologist, educator, and public fi gure, Imruz Afandiyeva, whose multifaceted work has made and continues to make a signifi cant contribution to musicology in Azerbaijan. The author highlights Afandiyeva's diverse activities as a researcher, teacher, and music educator. Special attention is given to her contribution to the development of national music science, including the study of the country’s traditional and classical musical heritage. Afandiyeva played a key role in the systematization and preservation of Azerbaijani musical culture, as well as in the training of a new generation of musicologists. Afandiyeva is the author of numerous works on the compositions of famous composers, and her contributions to music theory have played an important role in the educational process. The article emphasizes her involvement in the cultural life of the country, including her teaching work at the Baku Musical Academy and the Special Music School-Studio of the BMA, as well as her active role in music education and public outreach. Afandiyeva's activities laid the foundation for the formation of a new generation of musicologists who continue to preserve and develop national traditions. Imruz Afandiyeva is an example of dedication and devotion to science and the arts, continuing her work and inspiring future generations.
