Music and Time Annotation << Back The Refraction of Children's Worldview in Piano Works of Azerbaijani Composers from the late 20th to early 21st Century: a Case Study of Piano Miniatures by Ismail Hajibeyov and Javanshir Guliyev S.A. Mammadova This article explores how children's musical expression refl ects their worldview, using the examples of two remarkable Azerbaijani composers from the late 20th to early 21st centuries: Ismail Hajibeyov and Javanshir Guliyev. Both composers stand out for their originality in their creative paths. While inheriting the classical traditions of world music, they remained faithful to their national roots, particularly the rich Azerbaijani folklore heritage. As a result, Hajibeyov and Guliyev produced a signifi cant body of musical works across various genres. The genre of piano miniature, exemplifi ed by the works of Uzeyir Hajibeyli, Asaf Zeynalli, Gara Garayev, Fikret Amirov, Arif Melikov, Vasif Adigozalov, Suleyman Alesgarov, and others, was also effectively represented in the creative endeavors of Hajibeyov and Guliyev. The author emphasizes the importance of fi gurative presentation of these works for performance, which is directly related to the professionalism of teachers and their ability to convey deep artistic meaning to young performers. Thus, this article serves not only as a musical-analytical study but also as a justifi cation for the pedagogical approach in interpreting children's music.
