Music and Time Annotation << Back Evolution of the Tuba as an Orchestral Instrument V.N. Manuilov, V.O. Osinsky, M.S. Gvozdova The main purpose of this research article is to give a general idea about the methodology of the game on the tube, its infl uence on the music in general, and the evolution of the tube as an independent, integral orchestral instrument. The tuba is one of the loudest instruments in wind music, which has a wide range of extraction of sound, including low frequencies, thus increasing the overall musical expression, harmony and rhythm of the work. Invented in the early XIX century, it has been successfully applied in modern times in various forms of musical composition, from classical to marching music and the style of big band, having suffered some mechanical modifi cations. But despite the fact that the tuba is such an important and widely used instrument in world music, the history of its creation and development as an orchestral instrument is little known even in professional communities. The study will describe the technological, historical, musical aspects of the emergence and development of the tuba, the formation of the tuba as an autonomous orchestral instrument, and will analyze the impact of this instrument on music in general. The study of the history of institutionalization of the tuba in the orchestra will help to preserve the socio-cultural traditions, will be a conceptual platform for the expansion of technical musical practices and opportunities for innovation in this area by expanding general knowledge.
