Music and Time Annotation << Back Actor’s Interpretation of S.V. Rachmaninov’s Piano Music in Specific Acts of Stage Action E.V. Babicheva The article is devoted to the 150th anniversary of the birth and the 80th anniversary of the death of S.V. Rachmaninov, as well as some problems of the actor’s interpretation of his music in stage action. Modern musical theater requires, in addition to vocal skills, a combination of various stage opportunities and professional skills. Organic existence in unexpected tasks presupposes psychophysical flexibility and vivid acting expressiveness. The methodological basis of the multifaceted process of educating a future opera artist, one of the main sources of mastering the profession is music, the ability to act in the proposed circumstances of musical drama. The inspiring source for the realization of these educational tasks is not only opera, but also piano music. The musical and literary composition "My love, wide as the sea, cannot contain the life of the coast ...", based on piano music and romances by S.V. Rachmaninov, as well as on memoirs, his letters and interviews, allowed the performers to convey to the audience the most important stages of the composer’s life up to his departure from Russia. The variety of alternating fragments expanded the boundaries of vocal and stage speech. The associative nature of Rachmaninov’s music was a productive source of vivid actor’s expressiveness in the embodiment of effective tasks.
