Veliуev In this article, by studying the work of the prominent composer Ismayil Hajibayov, we come to such conclusion that the work "Two choirs written for a cappella to the words of L. Tolstoy" not only introduced a new artistic image and new means of expression to the choral music of Azerbaijan, but the exact "musical equivalent" of the poetic style was also deeply felt and the musical language of the choirs and the characteristic features of the choral style were worked out with interesting methods.The deep assimilation of European classical music traditions, as well as the polyphonic style of writing, have been valued as a style of writing characteristic of the composer’s style. Looking through the choral miniatures of I.Hajibayov, we see that the composer also studied and mastered Russian folk music. This manifests itself in the intonation structure of the work, the variation of the music, as well as its structural features, the simplicity and clarity of the texture, and in many other qualities. The composer with this work had a great impact on the development of Azerbaijan music, especially the choral miniature genre, and was in search of new findings. We can confi dently say that Ismayil Hajibayov has widely demonstrated his artistic potential in his work "Two choirs written for a cappella to the words of L.Tolstoy".
