Music and Time Annotation << Back Trends in the Development of the Moscow Jazz School in the Period of the 1970s–1980s P.L. Ovchinnikov, M.L. Zaytceva The article summarizes the results of the study of the domestic jazz art of the 1970s and 1980s, substantiates the tendency of weakening ideological control over the sphere of jazz performance, reveals the consequences of the legalization of jazz and its inclusion in state cultural programs. The characteristics of the performing styles of soloists L. Chizhik and I. Bril, ensembles "Allegro" by N.Ya. Levinovsky, "Cadence" by G. Lukyanov, "Sovremennik" by A. Kroll, "Arsenal" by A. Kozlov, who have emerged as leaders of the Moscow jazz school, are given. The conclusion is made about the manifestation of experimental orientation in the activities of Moscow jazz groups, about the expansion of the timbre palette of ensemble sound.
