Music and Time Annotation << Back The Genre of Etude in the Work of A.G. Rubinstein (on the Example of op. 23) A.G. Garanova The article analyzes the piano work and features of the performing style of the outstanding Russian musician, composer, pianist and public figure of the 19th century Anton Grigorievich Rubinstein. Rubinstein’s creative activity had a huge impact on the development of Russian musical culture. The composer’s connections with Russian and European musical culture, the features of his composing and performing style are clearly seen in the example of the etude genre. In Rubinstein’s work, the etude is transformed into a concert piece. It is no coincidence that these pieces by the composer were included in the repertoire of many musicians – from his contemporaries to pianists of the 21st century.
