Music and Time Annotation << Back Creativity of M.Y. Lermontov in Azerbaijani Vocal Music G.A. Ismailova The works of the famous Russian poet M.Y. Lermontov occupy a special place in the work of Azerbaijani composers. For the first time, outstanding Azerbaijani composer F. Amirov turned to Lermontov's poetic works in Azerbaijani vocal music. A. Rzaeva, R. Mustafaev, K. Karaev and M. Mirzoev composed music on the verses of M.Y. Lermontova. Songs, romances, music for performances represent the genre diversity of these original works, in which Lermontov's creativity is presented through the prism of the color of Azerbaijani national music. The peculiarities of the interpretation of these works pose various vocal and performance difficulties for the singer. Along with the transfer of artistic meaning, the presence of professional vocal data is required, including vocal breathing, mastery of the technique of vocal transitions, mobility of the vocal apparatus, smooth voice delivery, voice functioning in any part of the register, etc. Keywords: Azerbaijani vocal music, vocal works on the words of M.Y.
