Zaytceva The article summarizes the results of a study of the work of the American composer and poetess Lera Auerbach. The authors identify the main themes of her work, substantiate the importance of the theme of dialogue with time, which is often manifested in tragic images, in works that are responses to man-made and natural disasters, destructive wars. Using the example of a comparative analysis of the sonata for violin and piano "September 11" (2001) and the poem of the same name, the authors identifi ed associative parallels between the musical and poetic text, justified the presence of artistic and stylistic signs of neo-expressionism in them.
