Semantics and Semantic Motivations of the Cultural Meanings Mozdok Kabardians Song-Address of the to the Overlord of Smallpox «Sozyreshchym i bg"er Dyshches!» (Sozaresh has Golden Breasts!) |
A.V. Gucheva
The article is devoted to the peculiarities of the representation and conceptualization of the semantic function of the song-address of the Mozdok Kabardians to the overlord of smallpox «Sozyreshchym i bg"er dyshches!» (Sozaresh has a golden chest!) and its connection with the cultural scenario of the healing ceremony chapsh (schIapshche). This song for the treatment of smallpox is considered as a prototype and a ready-made formula of antiquity, where the melody uses repetitive cliched intonational and metro-rhythmic elements that act as a motivated lexeme of the musical text. The article also analyzes the defining concepts and semantic motivations for the performance of the song-address in the chapsha. Among the semantic motivations, we analyzed such as «separation», «connection», «measurement», «position», «establishment», which are embodied in the ritual in different ways.
Keywords: semantics, semantic motivations, appeal song, smallpox, Sozaresh, lord, chapsh, healing ceremony.
