The Influence of Francois Delsarte on the Development of Plastic Theater |
E.A. Kuzmina
The article deals with the theoretical and practical work of François Delsarte, a 19th-century French teacher of stage art. The author analyzes how the system of expressive movement, created by Delsarte, enriched the methods of teaching the art of acting, offered scientifically grounded evidence and ways for an artist to harmoniously exist on stage. The author also examines how discovering some extra capabilities of plastic movement contributed to the birth of new trends in the art of dance. Special attention is paid to the methodology of the system, on the one hand offering the key to creating an expressive image of an artist on the stage, on the other hand giving the opportunity to analyze new types of dance, their form and way of expression. In the course of the work, the author comes to the conclusion that the Delsarte system, as the foundation of the basic laws of stage existence, makes it possible to compare and determine the expressiveness of various dance styles.
