Kazharova Each ethnic group has value attitudes, where gender interaction plays a signifi cant role. Often these roles are opposed to each other, which in turn is the reason for the identifi cation of masculinity and femininity in culture. The emergence of gender theory refers to social research and is a relatively new area in Russian science of the XX-XXI centuries. This article presents an examination of some features of gender roles in the culture of the Circassians (Circassians). Also, the work is aimed at trying to fill the gap in the field of studying the female singing tradition and female specialization in folklore in general. The problem of insufficient knowledge of this layer of culture is associated with the trend in the development of science in the second half of the 20th century, when the main attention was paid to the study of preserved Nart, historical and heroic songs performed by men, which constitute a significant part of the Adyghe folklore heritage.
