Music and Time Annotation << Back Psychology of Conducting as an Important Component of the Practical Work of a Chormeaster S.A. Tyaglova, A.I. Baryshnikova The article substantiates the need for an in-depth study of the psychological component of the conductor’s profession in the preparation of future choirmasters. An analysis of the scientific and methodological literature on the topic of the study was made, the results of a survey among students regarding their level of knowledge in the psychology of conducting were analyzed. Based on the identified problems (lack of willpower, communication skills, self-confidence, lack of leadership qualities), we have compiled guidelines for future choirmasters containing practical advice for solving problematic issues in the work of a student with a choir, expanding the range of non-verbal communication in practice, as well as increasing psychological comfort in other areas of non-professional activity.
