Music and Time Annotation << Back Russian Classical Romances in the Modern Educational Repertoire of a Future Professional Vocalist: on the Question of Understanding Artistic Value Wang Qing This article discusses the reasons for the great importance that Russian classical romances have as part of the educational repertoire of a modern future professional vocalist. Defining the artistic value as the main source of the developing influence of a musical work, the author proves its qualitative changes in relation to Russian romances in the process of changing historical epochs. At the same time, comparing the samples of Russian classical romances with the samples of modern academic romance art, he comes to the conclusion that the figurative and stylistic content of a significant part of the former is open in relation to the era of their creation. The author proves that their uniqueness is determined by the fact that they are an anticipation of many transformations that occurred with chamber vocal genres in the XX–XXI centuries, which determines their value in the professional training of an academic vocalist as works that are consonant with their era, and as works that contain the "matrix" of the further evolution of chamber vocal genres. Thus, the article allows us to deepen and objectify the idea of the artistic value and the developing significance of Russian romances for the professional training of academic vocalists. Keywords.
