Grigori Pantijelew: «I Was Thinking About How to Make Lectures About Music Interesting» |

The interview discusses topical issues of applied musicology. A graduate of the Tchaikovsky Moscow State University, Candidate of Art Studies, associate Professor of the University of Bremen, G. Pantijelew tells about the experience of his own lecturing activity, about the maturation of the author's innovative method of interactive musicology. The stages of gradual professional formation, classes and communication with outstanding Russian musicians, art historians, cultural figures are highlighted. The importance of forming a lecturer-musicologist as a person who possesses not only highly specialized knowledge, but also the skills of a musicianperformer, critic, art historian, psychologist is noted. The issues of activating the listener’s attention are emphasized. A variety of interactive techniques, including the use of the technique of mayeutics, the use of lectures and discussions, and reliance on interdisciplinary research methods, serve to involve students in a joint research process with the lecturer. Special attention is paid to the work of the lecturer during the pandemic, effective entry into lecturing activities online, highlighting the positive and negative aspects of distant lectures.
