Music and Time Annotation << Back From the History of Performing the Opera "Ashig Garib" F.I. Nasirova The historical path of the performers of the opera by composer Z. Hajibeyli "Ashig Garib" for the period from 1916 to 2010 is considered. The first performer of the role of Garib was G. Sarabsky (opera "Leili and Majnun" – Majnun), who left behind a rich performing heritage for subsequent generations, and the role of Shahsenem was played by A. Agdamsky. For more than 100 years of history to this day, at various times, the leading roles in the opera were famous Azerbaijani artists, who immortalized the name of the composer with their virtuoso skills. Note that staging the opera 5 times in one year is a great achievement for the composer. The opera "Ashig Garib" was constantly covered in the periodicals, where we receive information not only about the performers of the main roles, but also about other characters, as well as about the staging of scenes. In 1977, the recording team of the Melodiya company recorded the opera Ashig Garib in Baku on tape. The opera was also performed outside our country, and even a very interesting, detailed annotation was published by the music columnist for the weekly Telegram of French radio and television P. Landau. In 2009, the opera "Ashig Garib" was once again edited and staged in connection with the International Symposium on Mugham held in Baku.
