Stylistic features of the Vocal Cycle "Evening" by Valery Alexandrovich Gavrilin in the Perspective of the Performance Interpretation |

The article is devoted to the analysis of the vocal cycle "Evening" for voice and piano, which is one of the most striking examples of the chamber vocal and instrumental composition of Valery Alexandrovich Gavrilin. Relying on the method of holistic music-theoretical analysis, the author consistently characterizes the ideological and stylistic context of the composer’s work in the 1960s, the artistic idea of the cycle, the refraction of the influence of various genre-style systems in his musical language. In the detailed description of the cycle as a musical text, the author places semantic accents in the aspect of the performance work of the ensemble of a singer and a pianist. Thus, the content of the article represents a consistent movement from the most general ideological-figurative and aesthetic categories describing the music of V.A. Gavrilin to specific concrete-practical recommendations for direct technical performance work. The author's chosen perspective of the vocal cycle "Evening" makes this article one of the first works that fill the gap in the modern scientific literature regarding the principles of performing interpretation of music by V.A. Gavrilin.
