About New Systematization Principles Musical Instruments |
M.I. Imkhanitskii
The article presents a new view on the classification of musical instruments. In contrast to their classification, which has been established for a very long time, according to the primary source of sound and secondary method of extraction, the article proposes a criterion for their equality, with the primary method of extracting sound for the performer. The illogicality of the primacy of the sound source criterion is proved by examples from various samples of instrumental music: playing on percussion instruments hits with a stick on the membrane of a snare drum make it a membranophone, but when hits with sticks on the Hoop of the same drum it becomes an idiophone, but for musical practice, and above all, for the performer himself, it is always primary that As an example, it is also proved that the huge family of harmonics should be classified not as "idiophones with a blow", but as reed pnematicovalve instruments. It follows that it is advisable to systematize the instruments exactly as it has been established in the practice of orchestral groups: in the Symphony orchestra-for string bows, wind and percussion, in the Russian folk orchestra – in addition to percussion instruments, for string plucked and pneumatic-valve tongue instruments.
Keywords: systematization of musical instruments, sound source on the instrument, method of sound extrac-tion, percussion instruments, wind instruments, stringed instruments, harmonics.
