Music and Time Annotation << Back The art of Piano Transcription for one Hand P.V. Rokitskaya The article is devoted to the problem of the development of transcriptions in piano works for one hand. The relevance of this topic is determined by the lack of research materials in domestic and foreign musicology, because there are no works dealing with a unique phenomenon in piano performance – transcriptions for one hand. The article discusses the pianistic features, as well as the art-shaped sphere of one-handed works. Based on the analysis, the presented article also reveals the features of the transformation of the author's text. As an example, the transcriptions of L. Godowsky on F. Chopin's etudes, the treatment of the Brazilian composer and pianist Arturo Chimirro, and the compositions of A.N. Scriabin and S.V. Rachmaninov. Despite the great interest and obvious value in piano art – transcriptions for one hand have not received proper research.
