Berio») the verbal text of the choral parts of the «Sinfonia» was analyzed from the point of view of the composer’s creative elaboration of the text of the book «The Raw and the Cooked». The method of structural analysis used in the study is applied to a verbal text: words and phrases arbitrarily chosen by the composer in the literary source take on the meaning of structural units that become the basis of musical-verbal composition. Using the example of the composer’s proceeding with verbal leitmotifs extracted from the book of Levi-Strauss in the first and fifth movements of Berio’s «Sinfonia», we analyzed the features of constructing a musical-verbal composition typical of the creative style of the Italian composer.
