Music and Time Annotation << Back Dmitry Kitaenko (Experience in artistic research) A.P. Panov Kitaenko became the successor of K.P. Kondrashin as artistic director and principal conductor of the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Moscow State Philharmonic Society. Kitaenko liked to refer to the opera genre in concert performance. The conductor is used to «messing around» with the orchestra, rehearsing, and not giving out hack. Probably, he is right, since the «orchestral» case in Russia is degrading from year to year. The author heard the orchestra conducted by Dmitry Georgievich in December 1989. It was probably one of the last speeches of the maestro in Moscow. Kitaenko himself in the magazine Spark wrote about the destructive processes in our musical education, about the decrease in the level of intelligence of young musicians.
