Konivets The relevance of the study and its scientific novelty are characterized by the fact that it made an attempt to analyze the «Poem in memory of D.D. Shostakovich» by A.A. Tsygankov as one of the early works of the composer, outlining not only the field of his further creative activity, but also paving the way, on which many followers are still moving. D.D. Shostakovich and A.A. Tsygankov are the two largest composers. They made a tremendous contribution to the development of two, at first glance, diametrically opposite branches of creativity – academic and professional. And these two opposite-pole ruts of musical art already in the 70s of the 20th century reveal unexpected common ground thanks to A.A. Tsygankov and his musical offering to a departed genius. The hypothesis of the study is to justify the non-triviality of the intonation fables created by the composer in the context of finds in the field of modern composition. The object of the study was the «Poem in memory of D.D. Shostakovich». The purpose of the study is to identify through analysis of the work of semantic and symbolic allusions associated with the name of D.D. Shostakovich, whose personality is the subject of this «Poem».
