Musical-band «Don Juan» by Alexander Gilev – a new stage in the development of Russian brass music |

This work aims to study the creative style of Alexander Gennadevich Gilev in his musical-band “Don Juan” for the wind band. The choice of the named composer is due to his contribution to the development of Russian music and instrumentation for a brass band. The works of A.G. Gilev was widely recognized and widely used in concert practice. The methodology for the study of creative handwriting is based on the experience gained in musicology of studying various musical styles, the development of melodics, structural features of harmony, metro rhythm, orchestral texture, the expressive and formative role of timbre, interpretation of orchestral instruments. The main objectives of the study: to give an aesthetic assessment of the Don Juan Band musical for the wind orchestra of A.G. Gilev, to identify the genre and stylistic features of thematic and features of its timbre embodiment, to show qualitative changes in the timbre texture, to identify the characteristic features of the orchestral writing of A.G. Gilev in the interpretation of the instrumental instruments of the brass band, to trace the character of continuity and the refraction in the brass music of the principles of orchestration of domestic classical and pop music.
