The relevance of the study and its scientific novelty is characterized in that it attempts to analyze "Sonata for Domara and Piano» of A. Tsygankov. The analysis is carried out in the prism of dramatic and stylistic ideas of the composer. Alexander Tsygankov already now occupies the leading position in domra creativity. The twentieth century actively introduces folk orchestras into stage programs and instruments with its characteristic searches in line with “new sounds. Given this fact, the issue of expanding the repertoire for domra, balalaika and gusli becomes an acute. Starting from the 70s, the figure of A. Tsygankov is at the center of this creative process. The composer created his own and fundamentally new line of creativity, along which many followers are now moving. The hypothesis of the study is to justify the mutual influence of finds in the field of academic music and the method of work of a gypsy in the mainstream of folk performing culture. Without a doubt, in this regard, the composer's search in the field of style and expressive means becomes justified. The object of study is a sonata for domra and piano. The purpose of the study is to reveal the lightness of the conceptual and dramatic finds of A. Tsygankov by analyzing the chosen cycle.
