Music and Time Annotation << Back Classical musical heritage of Azerbaijan composers of the early 50s of the twentieth century N.D. Ismail-zade The article is devoted to the achievements of Azerbaijani composers in the early 50s of the 20th century and the II Decade of Azerbaijani art and literature in November 1950, held in Moscow. After the I Decade, the Azerbaijani musical culture has grown noticeably, a lot of new works of contemporaries of Kara Karaev appeared. Metropolitan musicologists welcomed the symphonic works of Dzhevdet Hajiyev, Niyazi, Fikret Amirov and Soltan Gadzhibekov. The reviews of Russian musicologists are also reflected here on the pages of the periodical press about the works of our composers at the 5th, 6th plenary sessions of the USSR Union of Composers, which played an important role in the development of the composers of Azerbaijani composers. It is indicated on the existence of the traditions of Russian classics in the newly created projects. Among them were: the ballet “Gyulshen” by S. Hajibeyov, the symphonic mugam “Rast” by Niyazi, the symphonic poems “For Peace” by D. Hajiyev and “On the Other Side of Araks” by D. Dzhangirov. The work highlights the premiere of Kara Karaev's ballet Seven Beauties, in whose music Karayev has risen to the level of world achievements in this genre. The article also reflected the equally successful production of the opera “Sevil” by Fikret Amirov,which was highly appreciated by the leading figures of Soviet music.
