In given article characteristic features of creativity of world famous Azerbaijan composer Arif Melikov reveal. The person of the composer is very many-sided. He is a bright composer of the present, simultaneously both the gifted artist, and the conductor, and the fine teacher who has brought up not one generation of composers, and at the same time is written them the big work – the book devoted to bloody events on January, 20th, 1990. Its creativity is a huge contribution to a treasury of modern musical culture. It the author not only magnificent ballet «The Legend about love», it writes two more ballets: «The Poem of two hearts», "Two", including 8 symphonies, a considerable quantity of chamber products, romances and songs, music to films, drama performances and cartoon films.
