Music and Time Annotation << Back Inferno’s World in Boris Tischenko’s Beatrice Cycliad M.V. Dolmatova The article is devoted to two symphonies from the choreo-symphonic Beatrice cycliad, including five D-symphonies of Boris Tishchenko, an outstanding composer of the XX–XXI centuries. The extensive concept of the Cycliade covers the content of the Divine Comedy of Dante Alighieri, and also includes events from the life of Dante. The second and third D-symphonies recreate the poems dedicated to the nine circles of Hell. In the musical composition, an expanded sign system is used, which allows to combine a large number of musical themes into a single concept. The article discusses the functioning of symbolic information in the aspect of the literary program, the dramatic development of the main themes, timbre-intonation signs, sound-visualization and genre semantics.
