Music and Time Annotation << Back Musical-ethnographic Tradition Top Poochya: to Research Problem O.V. Chernobaeva The article is devoted to the problem of studying the musical and ethnographic tradition of the upper part. The relevance of the study is determined by the need to significantly expand and update the existing ideas about the musical and ethnographic culture of the territory of the Verkhneoksky basin, historically and geographically related to the period of settlement in the V–VIII centuries of the ancient East Slavic tribe Vyatichi (the territory of modern Orel, Tula, Kaluga regions, as well as part of the North-Eastern districts of Bryansk and Eastern Smolensk regions). The study of musical and ethnographic antiquities of the Slavic tribe Vyatichi is very relevant in the light of arealogical and historical trends in ethnomusicology. The problem of systematization and study of the facts of folk song culture in the territories of settlement of tribal groups of ancient Slavs is a "white spot" in modern science and requires detailed study.
