Music and Time Annotation << Back «My Problematic is the Discontinuity of Discourse»: on the Poetics of Georges Aperghis’ Works Y.N. Panteleeva The article is devoted to the work of Georges Aperghis, one of the major contemporary French composers. Panoramic review, concentrated mainly on the works of the 1970s, nevertheless gives an idea of the main lines of Aperghis' creativity and concerns works created in other periods of creativity. It's about the genres of stage music, opera and musical theater, which are characterized in terms of its diverse themes. Particular attention is paid in the article to the composition technique of two cyclic works by J. Aperghis – "Récitations" (1978) for voice and "Retrouvailles" (2013) for two percussionists / actors. These examples reveal the method of the composer's work with the language, so that the effect of discontinuity of discourse is achieved. Specific methods of the phonetic organization, reformatting the verbal text, are also considered.
