Music and Time Annotation << Back Philosophy of Music: from the Scientifi c Views of A. Losev and K. Zenkin M.V. Andreykina The article is devoted to some aspects of understanding the research of the contemporary Moscow musicologist Konstantin Zenkin "Music-Eidos-Time. A.F. Losev and horizons of contemporary science of music", which highlights the key points of the philosophy of music, music science. The questions of the methodological component of modern musicology, syncretism of science, musical hermeneutics and aesthetics become especially important in the XXI century. Alexei Losev's works are recognized the best within the subject of music philosophy, they cover the wide period – from antiquity to modern times. According to Losev, music is the expression of the life of numbers, "numerical substance", the philosophy of the scientist is permeated with the categories of Neoplatonism (including the concept of the One), the striving to comprehend the logic of myth and the Christian mythology (absolute mythology in his interpretation). K. Zenkin touches on the Losev assertions that music is the pre-eidetic formation of the eidos, and that it is the closest to the first-art, since it embodies not the images of becoming, but the becoming itself; music is driven by the "Dionysian" principle, irrationality and cosmism. These and other musical and philosophical questions raised by Losev and Zenkin are traced in this article, an overall evaluation of Zenkin's research is given.
