Music and Time Annotation << Back E.P. Makarov's Symphony. To a Problem of Interaction of Folklore and Professional Art P.A. Belik This composition for the beg brass band is very interesting for considering the problems of the mechanism of interaction between folklore and professional systems and also the functions of folklore principles in the context of author’s material. The author analyses the principles and methods of the composer’s creative work with the folklore patterns under the conditions of the invariant qualities of the symphonic genre. Quoting original folklore patterns is presented in the combination with stylization. The stylistic standards of folklore, syntactical folklore rhythms-formulas, melon-formulas are perceived as representations of the musical images. In the process of interaction of, image themes in the symphony there’s formed and stated the comprehension of the general artistic theme, idea and conception of the whole composition. In the score of the symphony there’s exposed the musical dramatic line, determined by the conception of the composition. The author marks the tendencies characterizing the rapprochement of the highly-developed home symphonic tradition with music for the brass band: strict structural organization, bearing upon the traditions of Russian classics and also a firm connection with mass hearer and amateur art, with folk sing-dance art, using the folklore as a source of thematism, means of expressiveness of every day genres, predomincence of mass images and positive emotions.
