Music and Time Annotation << Back The Musical Culture of the Belgorod Region in Personalities: Ivan Veretennikov – Folklorist, Educator, Teacher, Composer I.N. Karacharov Great influence on the formation of musical culture of the Belgorod region have the local identity of Musicians. One such significant for Belgorod culture people can rightly be considered the Honored Worker of Culture of Russia, a member of the Union of Russian composers, choirmaster, teacher Ivan Veretennikov. Creativity of I.I. Veretennikov considered in the article through the analysis of the main types of its activity – folklore-collector, educator, teacher and composer. Veretennikov collected over a thousand folk songs, published collections treatments and arrangements of folk music. He is the founder and director of several folk groups and choirs Russian songs. Ivan taught in schools, music college, institute of arts and culture, it has many disciples, followers. I.I. Veretennikov is a composer whose works are performed not only in Russia but also abroad.
