Music and Time Annotation << Back The History of Home Symphony: A.S. Balasanyan’s Symphony for the Mixed Choir without Accompaniment P.A. Belik The symphony for the mixed choir without accompaniment by S.A. Balasanyan, written in 1967, has become an important event in the history of the Home symphony. This composition for the untraditional performing staff has become a vivid example for the further of the ways of renovating the philosophical genre, reflecting the creative work of L.A. Prigozhin (Symphony in rites – 1980) and of V.A. Gavrilin (Symphony-action Perezvony 1982). The article is devoted to revealing the socio-cultural, historical-stylistic and individual creative factors, that influenced the genre peculiarities of the choir symphony A.S. Balasanyan. In their number there are the stylistic priorities of the composer’s creative work, stipulated by the norms of the socio-histories and cultural life, by the traditions of Home and European music and also by the performing abilities of the choir and of hearer’s perception. The results of the integral idea of the composition under consideration on the bases of defining the accordance of structural-semantic peculiarities of the archetype in the context of the genre evolution, analyses of the musical themes as the factor of organizing the dramaturgy of symphonies and also revealing the features of the composer’s musical feelings bring us to the conclusion that this composition has appeared in the channel of common culture and under the doubtless influence of the Home symphony. The choral Symphony by A.S. Balasanyan is the proof of the united picture of the development of the Home symphony genre, in which there is, displayed the fundamental principle, determining the composer’s position: objective accorent of Man and World. The symphonies for the choir are a component of national musical art. The main thing that unites symphony for the Kin-and untraditional performing staff is the striving to feep the symphony genre and searching far new bases of its further development.
